Purmo Group Sweden AB has once again earned the EcoVadis Gold Medal for 2025–26, marking the third consecutive year the company has received this prestigious recognition!

EcoVadis evaluates companies based on four sustainability themes – Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement – using evidence, certifications, and performance indicators. In addition to a numerical score from 0 to 100, companies are also ranked by percentile, which reflects how they compare to all other companies evaluated globally. This percentile ranking determines the medal level: Gold is awarded to the top 5%, Silver to the top 25%, and Bronze to the top 50%. So, the higher the percentile, the more outstanding the performance in sustainability.

With a score of 81 out of 100, Purmo Sweden is in the 97th percentile, which means it performed better than 97% of all companies assessed. Only 3% of companies worldwide achieved a higher score. This marks a notable improvement from the previous year, when the company scored 72 and ranked in the 95th percentile.

The result is the outcome of a structured and continuous improvement strategy led by the Quality & Environmental Manager, in close collaboration with the Production, Procurement, HR, and Compliance teams. Despite limited resources, each function contributed essential data, process enhancements, and documentation that supported the EcoVadis evaluation.

Compared to the previous year, the company improved in all four EcoVadis assessment areas. The Environment score rose from 80 to 93, Labor & Human Rights from 70 to 76, Ethics from 60 to 71, and Sustainable Procurement from 70 to 76. These gains were driven by targeted actions such as the implementation of a water-based washing system, the reduction in the use of leaded brass, the development of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and CSRD reporting. The company also adopted Science-Based Targets (SBTi) for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, enhanced supplier audits and sustainability clauses, and strengthened ethical governance through data security training and a whistleblower system. Employee engagement, safety training, and competence development were also key contributors.

This achievement is the result of strong teamwork across all departments, driven by shared commitment and collaboration. Purmo Group Sweden AB will continue to build on this foundation, pursuing its commitment to a more sustainable future with transparency, innovation and responsibility.
